Open Question: Help deciding between two colleges?

I currently attend the university of Miami, where I am quite unhappy. I've been there for the past year, and I haven't made much friends as it is a complete culture shock coming from southern california. Before I transferred to UM, I went to a small unrecognised community college in L.A. Many people tell me that if I'm so unhappy at UM I should transfer to a school near home; however with just a year and half to go it would make more sense just to finish my time at Miami. My alternative choice in California is attending university of San Diego, which I'm afraid will take me longer to graduate due to some of CREDITS NOT TRANSFERRING. My plight remains between continuing at a reputed university where im unhappy AND depressed and returning home and attending another university. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW I am not attending UC San Diego or SDSU. P.S I don't have any form of transportation, which isolates me into one cubbyhole of a room. It poses so much of a problem that I can't even go grocery shopping to buy food. From time to time, I get bouts of anxiety and depression, which prompted me to see a psychiatrist, who told me that I was suffering from depression.
